COST SAVING TIPS:
SHOPPING/GROCERY:
*Make a list of grocery items before going to the supermarket and try to estimate the prices. You can get the estimated prices from your previous receipts. That would prevent impulsive buying. And if you have something left from your budget, then that’s the time that you can add your wants.
*SHOP AROUND: Try to compare grocery items. Grocery stores put the costly products on the eye level. The first thing that you’ll pick will be the first thing that you see so they put it that way. Now, just try to look around and compare.
*Look for sale items, but look first for the expiration dates.
*My mom and I shop later in the day because there are lots of discounts you can get during closing time at the supermarket. They give 50% off on breads, 10% – 20% off on roasted chicken and lots of buy 1 take 1.
AT HOME:
==> KITCHEN: Experiment on food leftovers loke Leftover adobo to adobo rice and leftover chopsuey to canton toppings.
*Gather all ingredients before cooking. This will keep you from wasting your LPG.
==> ROOMS: Don’t just turn your appliances off, unplug it! Use fluorescent lights. Regularly clean your appliances like electric fans and aircons.
==> GARDEN, PARKING AREA:
*Plant simple vegetables in your mini-garden like tomatoes, pechay, pepper (sili), and kangkong.
*Don’t use hose when cleaning your car, use a pail.
OTHERS:
*TRIPLE BIG R: Reuse, Reduce and Recycle.
*Mix and match your clothes. Buy clothes for the kids that are bigger in size so that they can still use it.
*Bring a baon (cookies, fruits, water) with you when you go to the office, school or when going out to prevent from buying outside.
*Have a garage sale.
*Have a separate bank account for your savings and have a piggy bank in your house where you can place your coins (sukli) in it.
*Go for household cleaning remedies like baking soda and vinegar for cleaning bathroom tiles and orange peels to get rid of the smell inside your home. These are indeed non-toxic, you can find right at your doorstep and saves you money.
*Look for freebies in the net like hitabargain.com and some bloggers give away prizes. Free to do and if you won some prizes then consider it as a reward.
COST SAVING TIPS
Combine your cable, internet and telephone service. Companies now offer combined services that not only cost less, but offer the convenience of a single bill.
Send away for and follow up on rebates. After you buy a product with a rebate, send in the form that day. Then mark your calendar to remind yourself to follow up with the rebate company if the check hasn’t show up.
Request a reduction in the interest rate on your credit cards. Credit card companies sometimes are willing to reduce the interest rate.
Some Cost Saving Tips:
*When shopping in mall, look for styles that are “in” today and when you have time, you can go to Divisoria to buy the same. It is much cheaper and doesn’t cost so much like in the mall. You can also bargain on them for your best price and sometimes bulk do the thing especially this Christmas Season.
*Do your grocery in supermarkets that offer discounts on wholesale and are known for their very affordable prices. Sometimes they offer package for their products and free items. Just don’t forget to check the expiration date.
*At home, allot a day or two for ironing your clothes. Gather your clothes that you would like to wear for the following week and do your ironing in just one day. It will save you so much in your electricity bill. Also, don’t always open your ref when you won’t get anything inside and while your drinking water or other liquid. Open your windows especially in the morning to allow the sun’s shine come-in in your house. It doesn’t only save you lighting but also gives Vitamin D for your health.
*When dining, look for restos that offer free meals when you accumulate a certain amount from them. This is very applicable to a group of people or if you are a heavy eater. =) Sometimes they even offer free coffee or tea.
*If you are a techie person and loves networking, there are different sites that offer promos and freebies (like Hit a Bargain). You can discover a lot of promos from airplane companies, hotels, resorts, clothing stores and others that will definitely help you to save more.
*When going on a trip, asked some of your friends to join you. It will save you so much in hotel or resort accommodation, transportation and even food. And the more the merrier! =)

More power and success
Just a simple yet very practical cost-saving tip: before doing your grocery shopping, be sure not to have an empty stomach. You will be amazed at how much stuff you tend to buy when you’re hungry. I assure you it works!
Thanks Toby’s! Got my prize already…yipeee!!! More power and more freebies!!!! God Bless!!!
Here are some tips that I would like to share:
These simple steps don’t cost a thing, but can potentially save you 10-25% on your monthly energy bill.
At Home:
a.)Turn off lights and appliances when not in use. Don’t forget your computer. Most new computers have sleep settings.
b.)Barbecue outdoors when practical, keeping in mind the heat and effect of sun on your body. Reducing the heat coming into your home from any source, such as cooking, will reduce the load on your air conditioning.
c.)Make sure food is cool and covered before it goes into the refrigerator.
d.)Keep lights and lighting fixtures clean, especially if you’re reducing the number of lights you use. Dirt absorbs light. Let lights cool before cleaning them and never touch halogen bulbs with your bare hands. The oil from your skin can greatly damage the bulbs. Use a small piece of paper to hold the bulb.
e.)Run full loads in your washer and dryer, and use “solar drying” (clotheslines).
In The Office:
a.)Turn off PCs, monitors, printers, copiers, and lights every night and when not being used. If you can’ turn off the whole computer, turn off the monitor and printers.
b.)If appropriate, use ink-jet printers – they consume 90% less energy than laser printers.
c.)Use task lighting to directly illuminate work areas instead of area lighting.
d.)Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs. Fluorescent lamps can give the same amount of light as incandescent bulbs, and replacing just half of your light bulbs with CFLs can reduce your lighting energy use by up to 38%. Even though these bulbs cost more, they last up to 10 times longer!
e.)Maximize natural lighting by installing skylights or windows.
Be an energy saver today! =)
Have a container at home for all your coins. Wait for a year until it builds up. Assuming only 5 pesos a day is saved, that amounts to about 1,800 pesos! Enough to treat your family to a nice dinner out
Here’s a neat tip for those who have meetings at Starbucks: instead of ordering a cup of coffee for each person which cost about P100 each, why not buy a box of tea bags (which cost roughly about P200/box only for 10 tea bags I think) and drink tea instead. For a party of 4, that’s only P50each! And, you’ve still got 6 tea bags left.
Cost Saving Tips

Hi can I still make habol? Been very busy these past few days that I forgot the deadline.
Hi Vivian,
Yes, you can still join this contest!
Good luck & happy new year!
Thus a greater percentage of us are connected in the corporate world. We are always facing different challenges that call our being practical and responsible in our decision making. We all know that every company is very conscious on how they can save in every little things they can. Below are some of the cost saving tips that can help the corporate world.
In Business travel:
1. Waiting may pay. In normal times, purchasing travel as early as possible is the best way to lock in the lowest rates. Travel suppliers generally raise prices as unsold inventory depletes. But in an economic crisis, suppliers are more likely to be forced to eat unsold inventory and may offer the best bargains at the last minute as they desperately try to fill unoccupied rooms, seats or vehicles. Hotels and rental cars are most vulnerable, as they cannot easily eliminate capacity to match demand as airlines can by simply grounding flights.
2. Consider booking directly with the supplier. If you aren’t locked into a corporate travel program with a specific travel agency, booking directly on supplier websites can often be a cost saver.
3. Re-check prices after purchase. Prices can often drop after you’ve purchased or locked in a rate. These days it pays to re-check prices numerous times after booking and before your trip.
4. Traditional booking rules may not apply. Airlines have trained travelers to stay over a Saturday night or fly all segments on the same trip on a single airline for the lowest price, but these rules may no longer apply. Many discount airlines, like Southwest, price all flights as one-way segments with no incentive for round-trip purchase. In many cases, other airlines will follow those rules to remain competitive. Booking two one-way tickets on different airlines may allow you to obtain the lowest price (or optimal scheduling) on each segment and split your ticket among multiple airlines if necessary.
5. Consider alternative airports. Airfares and car rental prices may vary wildly between airports across town or an hour or two apart by car.
6. Day trips vs. extended trips. With travel budgets under scrutiny, some corporations are encouraging travelers to take more one day trips, eliminating overnight hotel stays.
8. Business- and first-class bargains. With many corporations trimming travel budgets and some companies downgrading travelers from first or business class to coach, this is an excellent time to locate bargains in the forward cabins as airlines struggle to fill those premium seats. It is also wise to shop across multiple airlines as first- and business-class fares may vary greatly on the same route. An increasing number of airlines now deploy yield management tactics in business and first class as they’ve done in coach for years, making it often less expensive to fly business/first class if purchased in advance or if you’re willing to add a stop or connection en route. In many cases, airlines allow full-fare coach travelers to upgrade to business or first class for a modest fee, so it’s always wise to inquire about this option as well.
9. Stronger dollar for cheaper travel abroad. One benefit of the dismal economic downturn is a strengthening U.S. dollar, making foreign travel less expensive than in previous years. In the last year, the U.S. dollar gained 25% against the Euro, 32% against the Canadian dollar, and a whopping 43% against the British Pound. If you have international business abroad, now is the time to go.
10. Internet bargains. These days travel suppliers increasingly harness the Internet to unload unsold inventory. In tough times, websites of all kinds abound with bargains and prices that might be lower than negotiated corporate rates. If you aren’t locked into negotiated rates this is the time to scour the Internet for travel deals. Good travel deals may be found on hundreds of online travel retailer websites or directly on suppliers’ sites.
I hope this reading I share can enrich everyone’s knowledge not only to those who are in the corporate world but this can also be helpful to those who loves to go for a vacation.
nakalimutan ko po mali pala nalagay ko na email ad kanina..ung tama ung gamit ko ngayon d2….hehe..thanks..

Saving Money at University as a Student
Saving Money on Uni Fees
1. Check to see if your University offers any scholarships or incentives for different courses. You never know your luck and could be provided with some financial assistance.
Saving Money on Rent
Rent is one of the greatest expenses of a student living out of home. Staying at home during study is one of the greatest things you can do, but if you must live out of home due to travel reasons or just experiencing the lifestyle, then these tips will help.
1.Try living in University provided accommodation.
2.Living off campus can also be a lot of fun. Try and find a modest place to live with another flat mate.
3.Live at home. If you can – stay at home! Save the money and put it towards an investment when you finish Uni.
Saving Money on Food:
The best way to save money on food at University is to always make your own dinners and lunches. Buying food on campus, no matter how good your ’student discount’ is, will always be more expensive.
Foods that are perfect for money savers/students include; buying rice in bulk, buying fruit and veg in bulk, spaghetti bol and lots of pasta!
Avoid buying takeaway, Pizza is easy I know – but it will cost you alot more and will not do your health any benefit.
Saving Money on Entertainment:
Now this is what students do best, PARTY! Remember, you can still have a great time while been money conscious.
1. Check to see what on campus events are coming up. Tends to be good live performances and theme parties that are free to attend and a great time is normally had by all.
2. Check what bars and clubs are associates of the University and find out if they have student nights. Student drink nights tend to offers drinks for half price or better if a student ID is shown.
3. If you are going out for the night, why not have some pre-drinks at your own place? You can buy your fav drinks and more at very cheap prices and have a few drinks with mates before going out.
4. When going to the movies, remember to show your student ID and get the discount.
Saving Money on Transportation:
Public transport is your friend while you are a student. Avoid using a car or motorbike, walking and public transport should easily do the trick and keep you fit!
1. Always remember to show that you are a student when riding the bus or getting a train. Discounts are great for students, nearly half the price of a normal ticket.
2. Consider carpooling to save money. If you live with people who go to the same Uni or your friends are local, why not save the money and take one care in.
3. Why not look at buying a bicycle? They are easy to park, cheap to run (nothing!).
Simple yet effective cost saving tips:
1. Distinguish between Wants and Needs
2. Clear your credit card debt
3. Make a shopping and grocery list
4. Do DIY
5. Sell unused items and clutters online
6. Invite friends over instead of going out
7. Give up expensive habits, like cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs
8. Pack food before you go on a road trip
9. Buy staples in bulk
10. Unplug appliances and electronics
Financial Tips for Couples
1.Get organized: Gather all important financially-related documents to a central location that is equally accessible to both partners.
2.Track your spending and pay yourself first:Write down where you are spending your money. Re-route some of your spending to a savings account: pay yourself first for a secure financial future.
3.Plan to save:Start a savings account to cover expenses like clothes, Christmas/holidays, and insurance. Plan for future expenses throughout the year.
4.Build an emergency fund: You never know when you will need additional cash so try to have two to three months of living expenses in a readily accessible savings account or money market account.
5.Don’t Go Into Debt, and if you are, Get out of debt: Avoid Credit CARDS. If you must use them, control your credit card spending and try to pay off any debts you have (e.g., car, credit card, student loan, etc.). Pay more than the minimum monthly payment. Once you have paid off your debts/credit cards, take the money and put it towards savings or some other debt. If possible, the goal is to simultaneously pay off your debt while still putting some amount into savings. Remember, you are loaned money so that you will pay interest and late charges and make other people money.
6.Set goals: Decide what you want to do with you money. Do you want to pay off debts/student loans? Buy a house? Save for a new car or additional education? Write down your goals and your strategy for achieving these goals. Write a budget.
7.Review your insurance coverage: Every year, review your health, life, disability, renter/homeowners, auto, and personal liability policies to make sure you are both adequately covered.
8.How much should you save and/or invest? Save at least 15% of every dime you earn beginning with your first job. The older you are the higher the percentage has to go unless you think you can work forever!
Thanks toby’s! more promos, more prizes!!! god bless
Saving Money the Student Way
Coffee Matters
Buying coffee at school or on the road can add up quickly and empty your wallet. Perhaps one of the most student-friendly inventions are coffee makers that have a timer. You can set it the night before and wake up to the smell of fresh coffee. When buying coffee on campus, bring your travel mug – many shops offer a discount when you use your own mug.
Eat Breakfast at Home
As hard as it seems at the time, students will thank themselves for setting the alarm 20 minutes early. Nobody needs a huge breakfast, just something nutritious to get through the day. Try one of these quick & healthy breakfast tips:
1. Cereal – it lasts forever in the cupboard, and is nutritious and filling.
2. Peanut butter – in a sandwich or on toast, this yummy breakfast food is full of protein and will get you through to lunchtime.
3. Shakes/Smoothies – throw some yoghurt, fruit and milk into a blender and enjoy a cold treat that packs you full of vitamins and energy.
Cook More than you Need
When you’re making dinner, always make double what you are able to eat. The extra portion will come in handy as lunch the next day – and will be more nutritious than what can be purchased in most cafeterias.
Keep Track of Cell Phone Use
With many students relying on cellular phones as their means of communication, minutes add up and large bills follow. Make sure you know exactly what your plan allows you, and write down how much time you use each day. This will prompt you to keep conversations short if you’re nearing your monthly limit.
Keep the Receipt
Keep receipts from any purchases you make. Keep them in your log book and continuously update your bank balance so you know what you have to spend.
Pay the Bills
Paying your bills right away, in full, will stop interest from accruing and put a stop to late payment fees. Many students will not have the funds needed to pay a bill when it comes. Try paying your regular bills at the beginning of each month, even if they are due halfway into the month. This way, you will know what is available to be spent throughout the rest of the month.
Skip the Cable, Watch Online
Millions of videos appear online, and can be just as entertaining as what can be found on television. Many of your favourite TV shows are available shortly after they air, on the network website. Since most students need the Internet for schoolwork, use it for your entertainment as well.
Only Print the Final Draft
Students will often go through many drafts of an assignment, until they have the perfect copy. Instead of printing off every draft and editing it on the page, try editing it on the computer. Many word processing programs allow you to write edits in the margins. This will save you the cost of paper and ink, which is pricey.
Keep the Change
Always put your change in a container, and watch it grow into a huge amount of coin. Once you have enough, you can count it up and put it in the bank. Many grocery stores also have machines that will count all of your coin for you, for a small fee.
Be an Effective Grocery Shopper
Students often have a hard time grocery shopping and will buy whatever looks appealing. Always know what you want, and split large quantities with a friend to save money, and stop your food from expiring before use.
Host a Potluck
Invite your friends over for a potluck dinner. You all make just one dish, and in return you get to feast on what everyone else has made. When the night is over, be sure to split the leftovers up and give everyone something to take home. Here are some helping words for hosting your potluck.
Cost Saving Tips:
1. Every payday make sure to save a portion of your money for emergency use. You’ll never know when you’ll need them. This also avoids borrowing money from friends.
2. Never use your credit card on small purchases, if possible and needed use it to purchase big value products with 0% interest on your payment terms.
3. Go to the grocery with a list at hand. Make sure you only buy what you need. Still keep in mind that quality always comes first then quantity, second.
4. Don’t just buy stuff because it’s on sale, make sure you check yourself if you really the product on sale.
5. Go to Divi for gift items, you can never go wrong, plus a wide variety of choices. Thrift shops are everywhere, you just need to be patient and you’ll get exactly what you need without the hassle of paying twice or thrice of it’s original price in the mall.
6. Don’t throw away paper bags or shopping bags, you can always reuse them, this will also help our environment.
7. Keep a piggybank, you can never go wrong with a piggybank, you wouldn’t notice that you’re saving.
8. If possible, do buy meat, veggies, fruits from wet market that purchasing them from groceries, they’re much cheaper.
9. Turn off and unplug your appliance if not in use.
10. Stay away from Coffee Shops, they offer pretty expensive drinks when you can get them really cheap from instant coffee. If you’re a coffee addict trying brewing your own from home, it’s gonna be a nice experience.
Here are some more tips to keep in mind when you are into buying used furniture:
* In shopping for used furniture items, you should possess a keen eye for a good bargain. You must select furniture pieces not because of its shape alone but because of how intricately each one is made. Oftentimes, these pieces are coated in white enamel paint.
* It is never wrong to scrutinize the item before you pay for it. Check and re-check every nook and cranny of the item. Look for signs that it would not last longer than it appears to be. Be cautious of just buying without checking just because you fancy the item. It is not bad to be meticulous even if it’s only used.
* Be sure that you know if such item still has a re-sale value. This is because if you want to sell it in the future, it is safe to know that you can still have it sold to interested buyers.
Now let’s talk about another cost saving tip.
One of the biggest origins of energy consumption at home is found in the kitchen, particularly in cooking. To reduce your electricity cost, here are some energy-saving tips for you:
* Match the size of the pot with the burner. Too large pot requires more energy; too small pot wastes energy.
* While cooking, keep pot lids on tightly. This traps the heat and lets you lower burner temperature.
* When suing an electric cooker, turn off the heat two or three minutes early since it will stay hot long enough for the food to cook.
* Avoid recipes that require long cooking time. For example, tendering meat for about an hour consumes a lot of energy. Opt for raw diet – it is more healthful and energy-economical.
That’s two ways you can save, and both can put additional money in your pocket.
entry sent! ..Thnx hit a bargain!
My cost-saving tips:
At home:
1. Turn off anything you’re not using. Not just the lights, but any equipment or appliances such as televisions, computers and computer monitors.
2. Ironing clothes: Do it at night, if possible. It will not use so much energy since it is cooler during night time accdg. to Meralco.
2. Refrigerator: Give the unit breathing room, clean the coils and don’t set the temperature too low.
3. Air conditioner: Clean filters regularly. Inspect filters monthly. Provide shading for your air conditioner.
1. Document monthly spending on an Excel spreadsheet. This is what I do on a daily basis. This is how I monitor what comes in and what goes out of my wallet.
2. Eat out less. Restaurants are convenient, but they cost you. My husband and I try to eat out only once a week (Friday date nights), and invest some time in learning how to cook quick and easy meals.
3. Cut back a little. This one may seem like common sense but most people don’t think of what they can cut back on. A perfect example would be to cut back on coffee (Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, etc.) Just buy yourself the 3-in-1 coffee in a sachet.
4. Go green. This will save you money. Major goals of green living include buying less stuff, using reusable items over disposables, and getting the toxins and chemicals out of your home and body. This adds up to some big time cash savings and your family will be healthier to boot.
5. Hold a garage sale. Identify all the things in your house that need to be put away. These things which may seem “trash” to you may be usable to some people. In this way, you could turn your “trash” into “cash”.
6. Bring “baon” to office. I don’t think I have to explain this further.
A simple and practical cost-saving tip:
Before doing your grocery list down all
the things you needed, first and for most
the things needed not the one you wanted.
Make a regular cleaning to your appliances:
cleaning light bulbs and flourescent
lamps can reduce 50% of its electric
consumption compare to the dirty one.

Money Saving Tips for Single Parents
Money Saving Tip #1: Use Coupons Effectively:
If you’re going to bother to clip coupons, make sure you use them in a way that saves you the most money possible
Money Saving Tip #2: Use Inexpensive Toiletries
We’ve all seen the Suave commercials. I don’t know about you, but I certainly can’t tell the difference between the Suave results and the more expensive brands they use for the purposes of comparison.
Money Saving Tip #3: Use Generic Laundry Detergents
You can save quite a bit of money each month just by purchasing the least expensive laundry detergent available to you.
Money Saving Tip #4: Do Not Have Your Clothes Professionally Dry Cleaned
There are two ways to go about this: Either don’t buy clothes that need to be dry cleaned, or use the dry cleaning fabric sheets that be used in the dryer.
Money Saving Tip #5: Drink Water
How much money do we spend per week on sodas and specialty drinks? Making an effort to drink tap water during the day can really add up when you compare it’s cost – nothing at all – to what you typically spend on sodas, coffees, and other drinks.
Money Saving Tip #6: Make Your Own Snacks
Money Saving Tip #7: Double Your Recipes When You Cook
When you go grocery shopping, plan to purchase twice the ingredients for one or two recipes.
Money Saving Tip #8: Buy Generic Foods and Staples
If you don’t purchase generic breakfast cereals, snacks, and breads, consider how much money you could save each month
Money Saving Tip #9: Only Buy Used Cars
Do you deserve a new car? Absolutely! But it isn’t always the wisest decision. You can save more money over time by purchasing a decent “certified” used car from a dealer you trust.
Money Saving Tip #10: Downgrade One luxury Item
Think about how many luxuries we’ve become accustomed to. You probably don’t go anywhere without your cell phone, and we all seem to be convinced that we “have to have” cable TV or a satellite dish. Some of the accoutrements that we once thought of as special treats have become the staples in our monthly budgets. This is actually a big part of why there’s too much month left at the end of our paychecks. For now, choose just one luxury to downgrade or eliminate.
I have shared this already to my facebook friends.

Yeheyy!! I won!.. thnx hit a bargain for this!
Cost Saving Tips:
Since gasoline is very expensive nowadays here are some suggestions on how to reduce gasoline consumption:
@keep your tires properly inflated.Check tire pressures monthlty. If they are underinflated by 5lbs,your gas mileage will be reduced 10%.
@check airfilter everytime you have the oil changed. A dirty filter cuts air flow to your engine;that cuts mileage.
@turn off the air condition and roll down windows, you will cut your mileage even more.
@o routine maintenance on the schedule recommended in your car’s manual.
@combine your daily errands and appointments into one trip.Plan your grocery shopping, don’t drive to the grocery everyday or so just to pick up few things.

cost saving tip:
instead of watching tv or playing video games with your kids, why not go outside to play or bike or do some exploring on foot.
school projects:
in doing school projects, you can save money by using materials found in your own home or garden instead of buying everything. reuse and recycle. you not only save money but you’re also helping to save mother earth.

TOP BABY COSTS & HOW TO SAVE:
Raising a baby isn’t cheap! But there are plenty of ways to save money.
1. Formula -Breastfeed for as long as you can. If you’re not breastfeeding, stick with powdered formula, which costs less than ready-to-use or liquid concentrate. Buy in bulk at wholesale.
2. Diapers- Aside from using cloth diapers and washing them yourself, the best way to save on diapers is to buy in bulk and stock up when diapers are on sale.
3. Childcare- For full-time care, consider asking a relative or friend. Family daycare centers and nanny sharing can also save cash.
4. Gear- Start with the basics — a good car seat, stroller, and bouncy seat, for example — and wait to buy other things. You may be able to try out a friend’s activity center or swing to see if your baby likes it before buying.
5. Clothes- Ask for hand-me-downs from friends and relatives. Get gently used items. Finally, treat your child’s soiled clothes with stain remover or a laundry booster so they can be worn again!
6. Food- If possible, make your own baby food. You may find that your child likes homemade food even better than jarred — and you can often make baby food out of what your family’s already eating for dinner.
7. Toys, books, and DVDs- Let your child play with safe household items. Buy secondhand, borrow books from the library, ask friends for hand-me-downs, and consider setting up a toy exchange with friends or neighbors who have babies around the same age.

COST SAVING TIPS:
1. When buying something (i.e clothes, groceries, gadgets), choose only the ones you need the most. It is best if you will think a number of times before buying anything then you’d regret after buying it. It will save you more if you have a list of all the things you need at home or for yourself. If you can wait, you can check out malls that are on sale.
2. Conserve energy and water. This will help you save some money.
3. R-E-C-Y-C-L-E!
